It’s another big news week for the financial markets this week, with much of the news focused on the commodity dollars – Australia, Canada and New Zealand. On Wednesday at 8pm we’ve got the latest interest rate announcement from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand accompanied by the official press conference. New Zealand interest Rates are currently standing at 2.5%. Expectations are for a hold in interest rates at the current level but anyone trading the New Zealand dollar or New Zealand stocks should keep a close watch on the announcement.

We’ll also be seeing quite a number of significant news releases from the US across the week including the Trade Balance and Unemployment Claims – on Thursday at 1.30pm GMT. On Friday we’ll see Retail Sales data and the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index due at 1.30pm GMT and 2.55pm GMT respectively.
